This game was made for the game jam "Mini Jam 219: Nocturne". It had the theme "Nocturne" and the limitation "Your score serves a purpose".

I interpreted "Nocturne" as the night obviously, but I also had the musical pieces in mind as I listened a lot to Chopin's nocturnes, so I wanted something in that mood with a rythm mechanic and I wanted to write nocturnes myself. There, the score is not a number to quantify something, but the score where to write some notes that modify the environment when played (like the blue notes allow the player to move ; the red notes allow turrets to shoot the player). The name of the game "Op.1 No.6" is a reference to Chopin's nocturnes ; it's the first opus because all these jams allow me to practice before doing my first big project, and No. 6 because it's my 6th game made with Godot.

The game is a 2D top-down pixel art game where you have to enter a room and get to the exit. There are "scores", the blue one allows you to move only when the cursor goes through a blue note ; and the red one allows turret to shoot you only when the cursor goes through a red note.

Due to personal circumstances, I only had 1 day and half out of the 3 days given to do this jam. Therefore I focused half a day in composing the musics, doing the sprites and then a full day of coding. With more time, I wanted the game to be bigger, to have a mechanic that allows the player to write down their own scores, to write their own notes to move in rythm ; to have a rogue-like system where you could endlessly go through rooms, etc.

The designs, the musics, the sound effects and the code are made by myself.
